It’s certainly one of the best-looking shmups out there and it’s a hell of a lot fun to play. A darned shame nobody’s brought it over yet.

Welcome to the forum, LS.

Crimzon Clover was actually one of the first titles we looked as a second slate candidate, but unfortunately it’s already in the works with another publisher (sad face.)

I don’t know any details of who the publisher is or what they have planned, but I would put the chance of Steam placement at ‘highly likely’.

There’s been an arcade port of the game now and there’s still no news on who has it…is the game stuck in rights hell because of the creator porting it to the arcade or something? Was the company that got it someone relatively new to the doujin exporting business?

I know think it’s likely that it was the arcade port that tied up the rights and there may well be no localization in the works.

We’d love to work on bringing out Crimson Clover overseas, but between ongoing projects and the Steam Greenlight situation, it’s not something we can take it on at the moment.

I know, I’m pretty sure now that the arcade version is considered “definitive”, Yotsubane (the dev) probably won’t care to update the PC version or have someone localize it unless he does a port to PC, which might be unlikely if he licensed it to Taito for Nesica. Really sucks because I want this game legitimately and it’s now going to become hard because all the PC copies are going out of print.

Crimzon Clover World Ignition has been confirmed for Steam during the Stunfest http://shmupemall.com/?p=6528 . It will be a port of the Nesica version.<br />
So, next time, wait at least for one month before posting hahaha.</p>
<p>They are also talking about it in this topic http://shmups.system11.org/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=50164&start=30 .

And also on Yotsubane’s website/blog http://yotsubane.blog99.fc2.com/blog-entry-62.html#more .
