I figured this may be best in a specific bugs thread rather than general chat!

I downloaded the trial version of Croixleur, but unfortunately it crashes to desktop when I try to boot it. Are there any known issues with the trial version or the final game?

If it helps, my specs are:

i5-2600K,
ASUS GTX670 Direct CUII TOP (NVIDIA driver version 310.70),
Win 7 Pro 64-bit,
ASUS Xonar DS.

Just bought this game on GamersGate and experiencing some difficulties.

While I don’t have any problems with booting the game, it always crashes when I use the bomb attack on more than 5 or 6 enemies at once.

Here are my specs:
Windows 8 Pro 64bit
Intel Core2Quad Q8200 CPU
NVIDIA GeForce 260 GTX
Realtek HD Onboard Audio

Everything is fully updated, latest DirectX 9 is also installed.

Hi, guys. Sorry to hear about the problems. Let’s see what we can do to get them fixed.

First off, can you please try disabling pixel shading in the config.exe file and see if that helps.

If that doesn’t resolve the problem, next (with pixel shading off) please go to your GFX card settings and disable all anti-aliasing.

If that doesn’t work, please copy & paste the contents of the _debug.txt file that should be in your Croixleur folder to this thread.

Thanks.

Here’s my _debug.txt:

[ Start-up settings menu ]

OS Windows Vista 6.2.9200

DirectX DirectX 11

Max Texture Size 8192 x 8192

I was able to reproduce the error with pixel-shading enabled (http://i49.tinypic.com/b7kq47.png) and disabled (http://i45.tinypic.com/lwrjk.png). Error messages are unfortunately in german, but they should give you the idea. Anti-Aliasing settings were disabled by default.

I have the feeling this could be related to Windows 8. Would be great if someone could verify this. Or maybe I’m just out of luck ;).

On an unrelated note, the developers of Hotline Miami fixed a similar issue, where their game crashed when too many sounds were played simultaneously. This happened only on Windows 8, too.

edit: Well, I’ve reinstalled Windows 7 and the problem is gone.

I can confirm that the trial doesn’t boot regardless of what settings I select in the config file. Disabling all anti-aliasing didn’t help either. 🙁

Also I’m running Windows 7, so my particular problem isn’t related to OS, unless this game doesn’t like 64-bit Windows. 🙁

This is the text from the debug file:

Hello. I’m having no trouble with running the game, specifically, however, none of my gamepads work with the game. I have, to this point, tried two wired xbox360 controllers, one from game stop and one microsoft one, and a gravis gamepad pro, as suggested in the splash screen when the game initially loads. Windows sees the devices just fine, I can only use the 360 controllers to move, not to attack, and the gravis gamepad pro does nothing at all.

My specs are as follows:
Windows 7 Ultimate – 64-bit
AMD Phenom II X6 1075T 3.4ghz (x6)
16GB DDR3(1333)
2x XFX HD6870 Crossfired w/1GB GDDR5 ea.

Would switching to XP SP3 compatibility mode fix this issue?

Nevermind. Situation fixed. For those of you unaware, if the game is not detecting the gamepad or not using all of the features of your gamepad:

go into the program folder (for Desura Users, that’s x:\program files (x86)\desura\common\croixleur\)
launch croixleur_config.exe
under key assignments, select Modify

Now, take your gamepad and, starting with the direction buttons, go through every button assignment. Be sure not to miss or skip any, as that can lead to the controller not functioning properly. When setting directions on the gamepad, you can use the analog sticks if using a controller that has one.

Note: If you launch the game through the Desura shortcut, it won’t activate the changes made with the game config tool. you’ll need to create your own desktop shortcut, manually, from the program folder for it to keep the changes.

Thanks for the reports & updates, guys.

So it’s just S_Jake having problems right now, I believe.

S_Jake > I’m waiting to hear back from someone with a similar issue by email and then will hit up souvenir circ. for possible solutions. Please bear with me.

Just want to confirm that the game does indeed crash when bombing multiple enemies on Windows 8.
